| Angkor | 11 x 15
Original watercolor painting by Stephanie Kurtyka. Strolling through the complex, the sounds of nature blend harmoniously with the whispers of history and ancient stories.
Painting inspired by my trip to Southeast Asia. As the largest religious monument in the world and the 8th wonder of the world, Angkor Wat in Cambodia showcases the architectural brilliance of the Khmer Empire. The site's enduring beauty and spiritual essence leaves a lasting impression and a deep sense of connection to the past. As the sun rose, casting a golden hue over the intricate carvings, the beauty of the temple awakened a deep sense of awe within me. I marveled at the towering spires and the delicate details that adorned every surface. The serene presence of the ancient stone, weathered yet resilient, told tales of those who walked before me. It was a place where time seemed to stand still, allowing for reflection and connection with something greater than myself.
